Acid pickled hot-rolled material refers to hot-rolled steel that has undergone an additional treatment process known as acid pickling or acid cleaning. After the initial hot rolling process, the steel is immersed in an acidic solution, typically hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, to remove surface oxides, scale, and impurities.

The acid pickling process involves the application of the acidic solution to the surface of the hot-rolled steel, where it reacts with the oxides and other contaminants, effectively dissolving them. This treatment results in a clean surface with improved finish and enhanced surface quality.

One of the primary purposes of acid pickling is to remove the scale that forms on the surface of the steel during the hot rolling process. By eliminating this scale, the steel's surface becomes smoother and more uniform, making it suitable for subsequent processing or finishing operations such as cold rolling, galvanizing, or painting.

Acid pickled hot-rolled material is commonly used in industries where surface quality and finish are critical, such as automotive manufacturing, appliance production, and construction. The removal of surface oxides and scale through acid pickling helps to ensure that the final product meets stringent quality standards and provides better performance in various applications.
